Our Artists

Our artists are a huge part of what makes the Hinesville Area Arts Council special. As a hub for the arts in Hinesville and Liberty County, the unique styles, skillsets and talents of our creatives define who we are. Nancy Melchor

Nancy Melchor

Nancy was born in 1941 in Pennsylvania where she trained and raced harness horses on the MD Circuit and New Jersey at Meadowlands. She got her artistic start later in life after moving to Pompano Beach in 1992 where she started a cleaning business. It was during this time that she also became Bob Ross Certified in landscape, wildlife and floral oil paintings. She taught at Pompano Beach until moving to Hinesville in 2012. Nancy now teaches oil painting techniques at her classes each month at the Gallery.

Madison Byler

Madison Byler

Madison Byler is an artist specializing in digital and acrylic art, particularly still life and portraiture. You can find her murals within businesses across Liberty County and as far south as Brunswick, Georgia. Madison teaches acrylic painting classes at the gallery, and in June and July of 2022, her artwork was on display at the gallery in her show Beginnings. Her work has been featured in magazines such as Voyage Savannah and Liberty Neighbors, among other publications. In her free time, Madison enjoys spending time with her family, including her new baby boy, and she loves creative writing and poetry.

The Robin's Nest

Samantha Lake & Ryan Lewis (The Robin's Nest)

Samantha Lake & Ryan Lewis are sisters who own The Robin’s Nest where they create handmade and sewn jewelry & accessories. They have always been very creative people and tried making all sorts of artsy things. It took a while for them to find their footing but then Ryan started making clay jewelry and soon her sister Samantha joined her. Now they co-run the Martin Mercantile & teach art classes for kids.
