![]() Liberty Theatre Company Announces 2011 Original Play Contact: Leah Poole, Chairman, Hinesville Area Arts Council; lpoole@uwce.org or chairman@hinesvillearts.com Hinesville, GA, April 29, 2010: The Liberty Theatre Company, formed by the Hinesville Area Arts Council, is proud to announce that for 2011 they will be creating an original play that will highlight the history and life stories of those who have been stationed at Camp/Fort Stewart from World War II to the present. This production will take place Valentine’s weekend 2011 and will consist of a dinner theatre type environment. The epistilary play, which will be based on letters from the battlefront back home and vice versa, will focus on World War II, the Korean War, the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam. It is undecided at this time where the history will end; however, any who want to participate in the information gathering are welcome to do so. What we are looking for: ·Letters from the battlefront home and vice versa during any period of Camp/Fort Stewart’s history. Photocopies of letters can be mailed to PO Box 655 Hinesville, GA 31310. Please include a verifiable name and telephone number with submission so that sources can be documented and fact checked. Letter owners will be given script contribution credit in the program. ·Pictures from these same eras. If possible photographs are to be scanned and emailed. If that is not feasible a photograph scanning day will be scheduled for sometime in November 2010 so that pictures can be scanned on-site and handed back to their owners. Photograph owners will be given set contribution credit in the program. ·Any period uniforms or clothing from these eras in history. These can be returned to the owners and will be used for the production if deemed suitable by the directors. Owners will be given costuming credits in the program. There is a lot about the history of Camp/Fort Stewart that has not been explored and it is the hope of The Liberty Theatre Company to be able to bring to the forefront the level of bravery, patriotism and honor that has been contributed by the US Army and dependents over the past 70 years, as well as highlight some of the little known nuggets of history that lie waiting to amaze and encourage future generations.
